More Earrings February 3, 2008

Havent made anything in 1 week. Just been so tired and busy at work.

These sorta remind me of grapes Lots of twisting involved. I think these are perfect for someone. They have a summery feel to it, and its perfect for the beach. …and her and I love the beach

 

I had to redo the ones above because I had the smaller beads on top first then the larger bead drop. Thought it looked kinda funny so I reversed it. I think it looks a lot better. 

Its superbowl Sunday and Im torn as to what to do! I havent been out all weekend (which I dont mind…) so should I go out for a switch of environment or stay in and do what I’ve been doing…(like make jewelry   ) To be continued….

I went right to Michaels right after work to buy more beads! It was fun. Also picked up some stuffing for those Cambodian pillows I bought during the trip. 

Love these earrings…so perfect fo Valentine’s day. Theyre actually for someone I know who LOVES red. I was trying so hard to create it in “their” style. It came out so much better than I thought-whew-relief.

This one is made with Swarovski cystals on a 14k earring hook. I’m really proud of this one b/c of the colors I used (I know, its simple, but still!). What I’m proud of is that there was a lot of wire bending that I needed to do but it was done very cleanly.

Bead Frenzy January 20, 2008

Got some new beads at Bead Frenzy in San Mateo. I wanted to make something that is more “me.” This might be my favorite one as of now. I made this with a Swarovski crystal 14k gold earring hook. I noticed that the metal ones really hurt my ears and these dont seem to give me problems at all.

My fingers are getting tired so I think Imma really slow down on this. Plus, Im getting a headache. I keep dropping stuff on the floor and it gives me a headache trying to look for it since the carpet is light brown and blends in with the wire. Anyway, enjoy!

Another pair! January 19, 2008

 Made these before I went to the movies with Michael. Had some Chipotle’s and then headed to downtown Redwood city to see Cloverfield. Very Blairwitch-esque, especially with the camcorder thing going on. Got a headache and felt nauteous. It was an okay movie, just wouldnt watch it again. I expected a horror, but I felt that it was a “what would you do..” type movie.

Anyway, wanted to try different colors for this pair. I was thinking that since Chinese New Year was around the corner, something red and gold would be nice.

Wire Jewelry January 19, 2008

So I’ve been on a shopping frenzy for handmade jewelry. Almost every night I go on ebay looing for cool new jewelry. I just love the ring and earrings I got from Rosarito so much that I want to look for more jewelry like this. I was online and I stumbled onto etsy.com a website for all things handmade. Its such an awesome site. I could really be on this site forever. They have things from clothing, stationary, jewelry, candles, etc. Everything is so darned cute on that site.

So thats how I kinda got inspired with trying to make my own jewelry. I went to Michael’s to get the supplies. Then my Michael had some old computer parts around and we got some of the wire from that and it was perfect for wrapping. It was just a lil bent though. I’m hoping to find some more at the hardware store (if thats where they sell them…)

 I dont know many wrapping techniques, but I’m playing around and hopefully I can learn how to make more intricate designs and have a better eye for color combinations. The simple ones are very easy.
